Discussion and possible action to transfer Slot #1383 Grant Writer from the Economic Development Department, including the budgeted amount of $48,626 annual salary and $16,076 in fringe benefits to the Business Office, with additional action to change title from Grant Writer to Grant Compliance Officer, approve the modification, posting and filling of said Slot, subject to the availability of payroll funds and any applicable Civil Service guidelines, effective February 27, 2017; and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: Due to recent events with one of the county courts at law, an item regarding the revision of grants was presented and approved on February 13, 2017. Commissioners Court approved Item #62 that ordered all changes regarding Grant funds be submitted to the Business office for final approval by the Commissioners Court.

Solution: Transfer the requested vacant slot to provide the necessary position for the revisions of grants and all financial administration.

Result: Acquire the position necessary to ensure that the court approved action can be completed.
