Discussion and possible action to ratify the authorization and submission of a grant continuation application for the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Grant (SAMHSA) in the amount of $325,000 for year two, which will allow for the continuation of the services currently being provided by the 406th Veterans Treatment Program and authorizing the Webb County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. There are no matching funds required. [Requested by Judge Oscar Hale, 406th District Court] [Grant Fund #2352]

Issue: The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration has been authorized to award $325,000 / year for up to 3 years to fund and support Veterans Treatment Courts in order to address the needs of veteran participants and their families.

Solution: Securing funding through grant awards to enable continuance of services to veterans in the 406th District Court's Veterans Treatment Program and regional services.

Result: Enabling the 406th Veterans Treatment Program to continue to provide services and/or enhance the services currently being provided.
