Splash Pads USA Release of Retainage

Discussion and possible action to ratify pending amount of $600.00 for the release of retainage for Splash Pads USA for the construction of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Local Park Grant Program Contract 50-000509, Bruni and Rio Bravo Splash Pads and authorize the County Judge to sign any relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. [Requested by James Flores, Economic Development Director; Accounts #3120-206000, #3701-206000 and #1001-206000]

Issue: Previous agenda item had a typo and had the amount of retainage for $27,310.25. Actual retainage amount is $27,910.25.

Solution: Approve ratification of the $600.00 pending, so contractor can get paid out.

Result: Pay out contractor full retainage amount.

Background:

Five percent (5%) of the construction project amount is held in retainage from the contractor for 30 days from the completion date of each project to ensure that any deficiencies which may arise are addressed by the contractor. Original contract amount was $557,000.00, with change order, contract amount became $573,205.00 and 5% retainer amount is $27,910.25.

Previous Court Action:

On January 18, 2022 Commissioner's Court approve the closeout and release of 5% retainage in the amount of $27,310.25 to Splash Pads USA for the construction of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Local Park Grant Program Contract 50-000509, Bruni and Rio Bravo Splash Pads and authorize the County Judge to sign any relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto.
