Subject:
Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise for formal bids for the Pueblo Nuevo Street Improvement Project - Contract CDV21-0485 in accordance with the Texas Government Code, Sub-Chapter C. (Competitive Bidding Method), Section 2269.101 (Contracts for Facilities: Competitive Bidding) and any other matters incident thereto. [Texas Community Development Program (TCDP) Grant Account #3521-7230-001-474502 (Infrastructure in Progress)]
 
Issue: The streets in Colonia Pueblo Nuevo are deteriorating and unpaved, posing a risk to public safety and causing gridlock in bad weather. The Webb County Engineer has prepared plans and specifications for this road project.
 
Solution: Obtain Commissioners Court approval to proceed with the formal bid solicitation process.
 
Result: Secure formal bid proposals and return to Commissioner Court for award of lowest and responsible bidder. The improved roads will lessen risks to public safety and give Colonia residents safe access.

Commissioners Court approved the acceptance of the Texas Community Development Program (TCDP) contract CDV21-0485 from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) in the amount of Three Hundred-Fifty Thousand Dollars ($350,000) for roadway improvements in Colonia Pueblo Nuevo.  Approved April 25, 2022; Item 11 b.
