REPAIR AND MAINTENANCE OF FILTERS AT THE RIO BRAVO TREATMENT PLANT

Discussion and possible action to approve the repairs and maintenance of the last Two (2) pending media filters, number 3 and 4 by Leopold, equipment repairs is exempt from competitive bidding under Texas Local Government Code 262.024 (a) (11), in the amount of $165,353.00. Filter #4 will require a new under drain, pneumatic tubing to the filter control valves and media replacement. Filter #3 will require the replacement of the media. Leopold is presently completing repairs of filters 1 and 2, which is Phase I of the Four (4) media filter repairs at the Rio Bravo Water Treatment Plant.

Background:

1. Remove and replace the under drain blocks for filter #4.
2. Run pneumatic tubing to the Filter control valves for filter #4.
3. Remove and replace the sand and anthracite media for filters #3 and #4.
4. Replace burn out relays and circuits in control panels.

Including labor, disposal, backwash, skimming and disinfection.

Previous Court Action:

Approval of Phase I of repairs to media filters #1 and #2 by Leopold.
