Subject:

Status report with discussion and possible action on pending county employee positions that were approved by the Commissioners Court for fiscal year 2014-2015 for certain county departments; contemplated to begin on April 1, 2015, subject to the availability of funding and budget restraints; and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: The Commissioners Court approved several employee slots for county departments for the 2014-2015 fiscal year with the caveat that they could not be filled by the department until Six (6) months into the year, subject to available funding and current budget restraints.

Solution: The court needs to assess the current county budgetary limitations in an effort to determine if these new unfilled county positions can be filled on April 1.

Result: The court will determine if favorable budget conditions exist to approve or not fund the filling of these county positions.
