Discussion and possible action to authorize the development and submission of a Phase 32 Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) application to the United Way of Laredo in the amount of Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000) for the purpose of financing the food voucher program to be offered by the Community Action Agency. This action will have no impact on the County General Fund.

Issue: Many Webb County families find themselves in need of emergency food assistance.

Solution: The Webb County Community Action Agency seeks funds to offer food vouchers to eligible recipients.

Result: Funds received will help eliminate hunger in Webb County.

Background:

This funding will extend the food voucher program offered to eligible Webb County residents in need of food.
