Discussion and possible action to approve Request for Payment for diagnostic fees for John Deere Backhoe 310D (Unit 2106) to RDO Equipment Company in the amount of $775.10. [Account #801-3002-6403]

Issue: On December 2013 John Deere Backhoe was delivered to RDO Equipment Company to determine cause of disrepair of equipment. It was determined that tractor sustained a transmission failure and would require further breakdown to determine measure needed to provide a repair. The estimated cost to simply breakdown the transmission is proposed to be approximately $2,700.00 dollars and further cost up to $6,000.00 to repair or replace transmission. Due to the estimated value and age of the backhoe, staff is recommending not to repair backhoe. Backhoe is currently held at RDO Equipment Company until action is taken to repair or to salvage.

Solution: Authorize and release payment for initial diagnosis, but do not further invest in it's repair.

Result: Vehicle will be provided for salvage or auction.
