Discussion and possible action to approve the payment of back pay to employees of Webb County that were awarded Longevity pay on August 13th, 2001. [Executive session is requested pursuant to Texas government Code Title 5, Subchapter D, Section 551.071 (Consultation with Attorney) and Section 551.074 (Personnel matters)]

Issue: Webb County employees that were awarded longevity pay subsequently transferred to other positions within Webb County. The possibility exists that the longevity pay was not applied as initially instructed by Commissioners Court.

Solution: The Auditor’s office has to audit the payroll records of these employees and determine the amount each is owed. Then each employee should be paid as approved by past Commissioners court.
