Discussion and possible action to accept grant award Contract Number #61170002691 for the PY-2017 Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG) State Discretionary Funds from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) in the amount of ($16,250.00) SIXTEEN THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED FIFTY DOLLARS, and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents. Contract commences February 01, 2017 ending on December 31, 2017. This action will not have impact to the General Fund.

Issue: Approve funding for the Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) from the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) for the Program Year 2017 in the amount of $16,250.00.

Solution: The Community Services Block Discretionary Grant Program (CSBG) provides Case Management services and Skills Training to eligible and low income residents of Webb County.

Result: Truck Driver Training to be available to Transition Out of Poverty (TOP) clients. The agency would cover full tuition, text books, and required tests. RN Certification to be available to TOP clients. The agency would cover text book and require tests fees.
