Background:

Webb County Adopted a wage and classification scale that assigns each class of positions to a pay grade based on the principle of equity among positions requiring similar knowledge, skills and abilities and having similar levels of responsibility. The classification for a criminal investigator was set at Grade 19 Steps A-E (Entry Level). The 2 investigators that are likely to be hired by the District Attorney's Office have an extensive amount of experience (resume included). Currently slot #887 is budgeted at $63,061 and slot #233 at $44,535.
