Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of routers with accessories, installation and network support from Insight to be used for Justice of the Peace Pct. 3, Judge Alfredo Garcia, pursuant to Sections 271.101 and 271.102, Texas Local Government Code, Cooperative Purchasing program DIR-TSO-2542 in the amount of Seven Thousand Six Hundred Forty-Nine Dollars and Thirty-Six cents ($7,649.36). [Account #2009-2170-001-460105 (Technology Fund)]

Issue: Department is in need for adequate internet access in order for better communication with other departments within Webb County.

Solution: Purchase and installation of routers will provide the tools needed to obtained faster and more reliable internet access in order to facilitate more efficient operations and communication.

Result: Faster internet services will be available with the hardware tools obtained and installed.

Background:

On 02-26-2018, Commissioners' Court approved an action to enter into a 60 month Data Service Agreement between Webb County and Smart Com Telephone for County Offices in the Quad City area. In order to receive this service for Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, the installation of routers requested in this item is needed.
