Palm pruning services

Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to seek competitive bids from qualified vendors to provide palm pruning services for Webb County to include all labor and equipment necessary to complete the required services and to further authorize the transfer of funds to cover expenses for these services that will be procured in accordance with the Purchasing Rules and Regulations for Webb County and any other matters incident thereto.
Issue:
Landscaping services are needed to prune palm trees at the Webb County golf course and any other County property that may require it.
Solution:
Authorize the Purchasing Agent to seek competitive bids (informal) and further authorize the Budget Office to transfer the necessary funds to cover expense. Currently only the Golf course has a Tree and landscaping account but has no budget. No other landscaping account is available under the general operating building maintenance fund.
Result:
Annual maintenance to clean up palm trees and related landscape will be completed.
