Engineering Services for Welch Road bridge with Porras Nance Engineering

Subject:

Discussion and possible action to enter into an Agreement for Engineering Services with Porras Nance Engineering for design and construction administration services for the Welch Road Bridge in an amount not to exceed Forty-Seven Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($47,500) and any matters incident thereto; authorizing the County Judge to sign all related documents. [Account #1001-1010-001-432-001 (Professional Services)]

Issue: The Welch Road Bridge is impassable and a side road is being used to go around the damaged bridge structure.

Solution: The County's contribution of funds that would normally be paid to TxDOT for repair of bridges on the National Bridge System have been approved by TxDOT for a Participation Waived Project for the design and re-construction of the bridge and an Engineering Services contract will provide for the plans, specifications and construction administration for a bridge/culvert.

Result: Plans, specification and construction administration will be acquired for the construction of a new culvert/bridge crossing.
