Subject:

Discussion and possible action to award Invitation to Bid No. 2021-008 “Espejo Molina Road Overlay Project” to the lowest and responsible bidder Anderson Columbia Co., Inc. in an amount not to exceed $793,096.70 and any other matters incident thereto. [Account 3720-7230-708-47000 – CTIF 2014]

Issue: The County Engineer was authorized to prepare plans and specifications for road overlay projects. Formal bids were solicited and four (4) bids were submitted.

Solution: Award to Anderson Columbia the lowest and responsible bidder.

Result: Proceed with Notice of Award and execution of construction contract between Webb County and Anderson Columbia Co., Inc.

Background:

The project consists of the overlay of a 6,864 LF of 2” thick asphalt-paved road varying from 32 foot back to back. The work includes paving, striping, back-filling, and all appurtenances and all incidentals as required by the construction documents, including all labor, materials, and incidental necessary to complete the work in accordance with the construction documents.

Previous Court Action:

Commissioners Court authorized the Purchasing Agent to seek formal competitive bids on February 08, 2021.
