Discussion and possible action to develop and submit a Medina Electric Community Empowerment Program (CEP) grant for 2022 for up to $2,000.00, and authorizing the County Judge to act as the Authorized Representative in all matters pertaining to the County's request for funding. The purpose of the application is to purchase face pieces for department’s back-up self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) for use by fire personnel. This application will require a cash match up to $500.00. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: As the Webb County Volunteer Fire Department expands to insure the safety of Webb County residents, so does the demand for a well-equipped department.

Solution: The acquisition of grant funds will aid with the purchase of face pieces for SCBA used by fire personnel.

Result: A well-equipped department ready to assist at any incident.
