Texas Community Development Block Grant -CFCP Grant Application

Discussion and possible action to authorize the Economic Development Department to submit a grant application and resolution for the Texas Community Development Block Grant – Colonia Fund Construction Program to the Texas Department of Agriculture for water and/or sewer infrastructure improvements in the colonias; and authorizing the County Judge to act as the County's Executive Officer and Authorized Signator in all matters pertaining to the County's participation in the Colonia Fund Construction Program. This grant application does not require a county cash/in-kind match. All required documents were submitted to the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) policy and procedures.

Issue: Water Infrastructure is needed in the colonias that require improvements for optimal drinking water and adequate sewer system.

Solution: Improve water quality by installation of new water infrastructure and adequate sewer system.

Result: The development and submission of a Texas Community Development Block Grant application to the Texas Department of Agriculture for the Colonia Fund Construction Program for water system improvements Economic Development Department will assure compliance with requirements from funding agency.
