Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to secure competitive bids and/or pricing for the purchase of two (2) industrial-sized Crown GLT-100 Natural Gas Kettles, for the Webb County Jail Kitchen for an amount not to exceed $85,000.00 and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-4070-001-470000 Capital Outlay]

Issue: Currently the Jail kitchen operates with only one industrial-sized kettle. The purchase of additional kettle equipment will increase the efficiency of that operation and will provide kettle backup.

Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to seek formal bids or cooperative pricing for the needed purchase. This equipment is budgeted under the Jails division capital outlay account.

Result: If approved, process to order jail kitchen equipment.
