Discussion and possible action to approve the submission of a grant application to the Susteen, Inc. for a Susteen Community Outreach Grant for needed technology related to investigations; and designating the Webb County Judge as the authorized official in all matters related to this grant; and any other matters incident thereto. This grant requires an estimated cash match of $1,995. [Federal Forfeiture fund 175]

Background:

The mobile forensics software suite requested under this program would allow the Webb County Sheriff’s Office investigators to increase their mobile phone forensic capabilities for data acquisition, case management, and data reporting. This software is currently in use by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and various other law enforcement agencies.
