Building Rental Lease extension - Task Force

Discussion and possible action to approve the the Second (2nd) option to renew building lease agreement between Mouse Properties Holdings, LTD (LESSOR) and Webb County (Tenant) for a one year period effective June 1, 2014 through May 31, 2015 in accordance with Article 36 (Option to Renew); monthly installments will be $8,862.65 for a total of $106,351.77 annually and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. Background:
Currently the Webb County Sheriff's Office Anti-Money Laundering Task Force is housed in this rental property located at 919 Washington Street and is recommending to exercise the 2nd option to extend lease for an additional 12 months.  The extension of lease agreement will permit no interruption with ongoing investigations that are critical to our Border area in dismantling money laundering, weapons smuggling and other related criminal operations.  This location also serves as office space for cooperating law enforcement agencies and as a central command center for operational planning.

All personnel and operational expenses including rental of building are funded 100% by the SW Border Anti-Money Laundering Alliance Grant.  No impact to General fund.

Approval of 1st Option to extend on lease agreement and approval of supplemental funding by Alliance.
