Subject:

Discussion and possible action to authorize the submission of a Community Outdoor Outreach Program (COOP) Grant Application in the amount of $30,000 to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department with the purpose of providing the low-income, at risk youth of Webb County outdoor recreational opportunities at Texas State Parks; and to designate the County Judge as the authorized representative of the County to act on behalf of the Webb County Commissioners Court in all matters pertaining to the submission and execution of the grant.

Background:

The Community Outdoor Outreach Program has been successfully implemented by the Economic Development Department in years prior; it has had a positive impact on underprivileged youth throughout Webb County.

Financial Impact:
This program does not require a match and will therefore have no impact on the County General Fund; However, In-Kind services will be provided as match at approximately thirty-three percent (33%) of the total budget. A total of approximately $10,000 will be provided as In-Kind services.
