Discussion and possible action to extend the pay periods for One (1) LVN, Three (3) Content Area Assistants, One (1) Maintenance Worker, Four (4) Bus Drivers, One (1) Food Transporter, Thirteen (13) Area Service Managers, and Four (4) Part Time Substitute Teachers for the 2013 - 2014 Head Start Fiscal Year.

Background:

Due to payroll savings from staff on base salaries, leave without pay, vacant positions, maternity leave, FMLA, and the like, funds are available in the Personnel and Fringe Benefits line items to cover the extended pay periods for these positions. The payroll savings would otherwise be returned to the Department of Health and Human Services at the end of the grant's fiscal year. Staff will assist the program with program operations, planning, and maintenance during the summer months

Previous Court Action:

The Commissioner's Court approved an extension of pay periods on May 28, 2013 for the 2012 - 2013 fiscal year.
