Discussion and possible action to accept the 2017 Distribution of Tobacco Settlement proceeds allocated to Webb County by the Texas Department of State Health Services for the submission of the annual Tobacco Settlement Expenditure Report in the amount of One Hundred Forty One Thousand, Seven Hundred Ninety-One Dollars and Thirteen Cents ($141,791.13); and any other matters incident thereto (Revenue Account #1001-5030-330640).
Issue:
Each year the state of Texas provides healthcare establishments the opportunity to receive a portion of the Annual Distributions made from the Tobacco Settlement Permanent Trust Account. The Indigent Healthcare Services Department prepares the annual Tobacco Settlement Expenditure Report which includes all of the unreimbursed healthcare expenditures. Webb County reported a total of $6,963,888 for the 2016 calendar year.
Solution:
To accept the distribution of proceeds.
Result:
Funds will be deposited into the general fund revenue account #1001-5030-330640.
