Subject:

Discussion and possible action to authorize Community Action Agency to develop and submit an application for the Emergency Food Grant in the amount of Fifteen Thousand Dollars ($15,000) from Emergency Food and Shelter Program (EFSP) 2024 Phase 41 and authorizing the County Judge to sign all relevant documents. All required documents were sent for review through the Economic Development Department and the solicitation is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. There is no County Match and there will be no impact on the County’s General Fund. [Requested by Community Action Agency; Account #2923-5150-521]

Issue: There is a greater demand for food assistance in the area of Webb County than there is funding.

Solution: Webb County CAA seeks to address the hunger needs of the community by applying for the Emergency Food Grant provided by EFSP.

Result: If awarded the grant, Webb County Community Action Agency will be able to continue assisting a potential of 500 eligible households with emergency meals.
