Issue:
AED machines require routine maintenance every 4 years. Webb County has an obligation to reduce loss, and provide a safe work environment for all.
Solution:
Approving the line item transfer will allow Risk Management to purchase necessary equipment for AED upkeep.
Result:
AED's are important because they strengthen the Chain of Survival. They can restore a normal heart rhythm in victims of sudden cardiac arrest. When a person suffers a sudden cardiac arrest, their chances of survival decreases by 7% to 10% for each minute that passes without defibrillation. AED's save lives!
