Discussion and possible action to authorize the following change in job title/job description for Slot #445 after vacancy of slot by current employee and submission to the Civil Service Commission for approval of new job title/description; and, following approval by the Civil Service Commission and in compliance with any applicable Webb County personnel policies/Civil Service Commission guidelines, and subject to availability of payroll funds, the posting and filling of said slot with new job title/description; and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: The Webb County Sheriff's Office seeks to convert one position from Officer II to Officer I/Pilot in order to increase flexibility, expand capacity, and conduct cross-training for its Aviation Unit.

Solution: Request authorization from the Webb County Commissioners' Court and the Webb County Civil Service Commission to change the job title and description for a specific slot.

Result: The Webb County Sheriff's Office will be better able to serve the needs of the local community.
