Discussion and possible action to approve the title change of vacant Slot #1242 and approve the filling of the slot, subject to the availability of payroll funds and any applicable Civil Service guidelines, effective August 10, 2015.

To: 1242	Caseworker	$15.15 - $15.93 Grade: 12/A - E

Issue: The department has three Case Manager positions held by employees with an average of 20 years of experience in the County Indigent Health Care Program (CIHCP). One of these slots became vacant in July and in order to be able to hire someone with comparable experience needed for this position we would need to recruit applicants from other counties.

Solution: We are requesting authorization to amend the title and job description from Case Manager (Grade level 14) to Caseworker (Grade level 12) to be able to hire at an entry level position.

Result: By hiring at a Caseworker level, we will be able to recruit from a larger pool of local applicants.
