Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to solicit sealed competitive bids for courtroom and office renovations to the Webb County Justice of the Peace Precinct 1, Place 2, Judge Oscar Liendo in accordance with the Texas Government Code; Section 2269.101 (Contracts for Facilities: Competitive Bidding) and to further designate the County Engineer to prepare the construction documents required for this project in accordance with Section 2269.102 (Use of Architect or Engineer) and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: Judge Oscar Liendo is requesting renovations to his courtroom and general office area to coincide with similar upgrades to JP Pct.1 Pl.1. Judge Liendo requested funding during the budget process to support this project under the general fund during fiscal year 2023-2024.

Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to seek competitive sealed bids pursuant to the Local Government Code for this project.

Result: Return to Court with the lowest and responsible bid offer for Commissioners Court to consider for award.
