Issue: Requesting an updated report by the Executive Director with Texas Commission on Jail Standards regarding our current Jail facility.

Solution: Update Court on current and future state inmate population trends, secure recommendation by State on size of facility that is required to house state inmates today and for future years at the Webb County Jail.

Results: Secure vital information from the State regarding state inmate population trends and any other information that would assist the Webb County Sheriff and Commissioners Court in evaluating the need for a new County Jail.

Background:

Report by Mr. Brandon Wood, Executive Director with Texas Commission on Jail Standards on the updated feasibility needs assessment for the Webb County Jail. Report by Mr. Wood will cover topics regarding the need for a new County jail based on state inmate population trends, facility size recommendations, type of jail designs suitable for Webb County (i.e. direct and/or indirect supervision) and any other information that would assist the Webb County Sheriff and Commissioners Court in evaluating the need for a new County jail.
