Discussion and possible action to award RFQ #2016-004 "Hachar Reuthinger Road Project" to Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation for preliminary engineering services under Contract Number CSJ: 0922-33-166; Hachar Reuthinger Road Project - Northern N.D. Hachar Tract Boundary to I-35 and authorizing the County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation was the only proposer for RFQ#2016-004 for the Hachar Reuthinger Road Project.

Solution: Award RFQ #2016-004 to Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation. Award is based on qualifications. Approval of this procurement phase will allow County staff to negotiate with Dannenbaum and return to Commissioners Court for final approval of engineering contract/agreement with terms and conditions and associated fees.

Results: Authorization to initiate negotiations with Dannenbaum Engineering for a professional engineering contract/agreement for the Hachar Reuthinger Road Project.

Background:

Webb County authorized County staff to solicit RFQ#2016-004 "Hachar Reuthinger Road Project" for preliminary engineering services under Contract Number CSJ: 0922-33-166; Hachar Reuthinger Road Project - Northern N.D. Hachar Tract Boundary to I-35. These preliminary designs will prepare the County to extend the Hachar Road through the Reuthinger portion allowing to take the roadway out of the commercial area and improve the flow of traffic and other future infrastructure growth in the area. Preliminary engineering services will be reimbursed through TXDOT up to $240,000.00 (80/20) reimbursable per application for payment.

Sealed RFQ were opened September 19th, 2016 at 2pm. Only one engineering firm submitted a sealed proposal. Staff recommend award to Dannenbaum Engineering Corporation for preliminary engineering services.

Previous Court Action:

Authorization to solicit for RFQ for preliminary engineering services for the Hachar Reuthinger Road Project.

Financial Impact:
Maximum reimbursement for preliminary engineering services is $240,000.00 TXDOT will reimburse the County 80% of each reimbursement report submitted up to the maximum reimbursement allocated for this project of $240,000.00.
