Payment for memberships on non-profit State Associations

Discussion and possible action to approve payments for memberships to non-profit state association for the 49th District Court for fiscal year 2022 as required by Local Government Code Section 89.002 subject to funds and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: Local Government Code 89.002 Requires that: The Commissioners Court may spend, in the name of the county, money from the county for membership fees and dues of a non-profit state association of counties.

Solution: Obtain court approval as required.

Result: Purchase Orders for state associations approved by Commissioners Court will be processed for payment.

Background:

To pay dues for Texas Association of Court Administrators and Texas Court Reporters Association.

Previous Court Action:

Commissioners Court previously approved other state associations on 9/27/21 for fiscal year 2022, however, these two associations for the 49th were not included on the list.
