Subject:

Discussion and possible action to accept the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Administration (SAMHSA) Grant Award, #5H79TI081049-05, Year 5 Continuation award, in the amount of FOUR HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ($400,000.00) beginning September 30, 2022 through September 29, 2023, for the Webb County Court-at-Law II DWI Court Program, and authorizing the County Judge to execute all relevant documents; and any other matters incident thereto. There is no match required, therefore there is no financial impact to the general fund. All required documents were sent for review to the Economic Development Department and the acceptance of the Continuation grant is compliant with the Webb County Single Point of Contact (SPOC) procedures. Issue: Notice of Award for the Webb County Court-at-Law II DWI Court Program, SAMHSA Grant Year 5 was received on 06/27/2022, acceptance by Commissioners Court is required.

Solution: Accept the notice of award for year 5. The Commissioners Court approving the budget as submitted to, and approved by, SAMHSA.

Result: Funding in year 5 will be utilized to provide substance abuse and mental health services to all qualifying candidates.

The SAMHSA grant is a multi-year grant previously approved and award for a total of 5 years (2018-2023).
