Discussion and possible action to accept the 2022 - 2023 United States Department of Agriculture Child and Adult Care Food Program (USDA CACFP) continuation grant for the Head Start and Early Head Start program from October 1, 2022 through September 30, 2023. This program provides reimbursement of meals (Breakfast, Lunch, Snack) to enrolled children and salaries of kitchen staff. Acceptance of this grant includes a salary adjustment of 3% for all USDA CACFP staff.

Background:

The USDA CACFP grant is a continuation grant for reimbursement of fees for child meals, kitchen and food expenses, and kitchen staff salaries. It is updated on an annual basis and supplemented with Head Start grant funds.

Previous Court Action:

This grant was approved by the Webb County Commissioners Court on September 27, 2021.
