Let it be remembered that a regular meeting of the Webb County Commissioners Court was held at 9:00 a.m. at the regular meeting place with the following members present to wit:

Thus constituting a quorum, the Commissioners Court proceeded to act upon the Agenda as posted in the meeting notice of the 5th day of December 2014. Present also were Ms. Virginia Martinez, Deputy County Clerk representing Mrs. Margie Ramirez Ibarra, Ex-officio Clerk of the Commissioners Court, various officers and others interested in the business of the Court.

County Treasurer, Ms. Delia Perales thanked Judge Valdez for being the County Judge for eight years and for his years of service as a Justice of the Peace.

Ms. Delia Perales presented the recap of checks, side bills, ratification of payroll for Friday, ratification of two (2) checks released with order of the County Attorney, and list of the 288 election workers that were paid the last time around pending approval.

13. AI-2160  Recognition and presentation of Certificates of Achievement to the 2014-2015 Bruni Badgers Football Team.

The Commissioners Court presented certificates of achievement to the 2014-2015 Bruni Badgers Football Team in recognition of their very successful athletic year.
             
5. Communications

Cmr. Sciaraffa announced that on Friday, December 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. the El Cenizo Community Center would be hosting a free Flu Vaccination Clinic and at the Rio Bravo Community Center from 2 p.m to 6 p.m.

Cmr. Tijerina thanked Judge Valdez for his 32 years of service to Webb County. She also congratulated Judge Oscar Martinez and Judge Alvino Morales on their retirement from Webb County. Cmr. Tijerina thanked everyone who attended the Webb County Employee Christmas Dance and the committee who made it possible. She congratulated LISD and UISD on their annual Christmas parade. Cmr. Tijerina invited everyone to attend the Youth Village groundbreaking ceremony on Wednesday, December 17 at 10 a.m. She wished all Webb County employees and residents a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Cmr. Tijerina extended an invitation to her swearing in ceremony to be held on January 1, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. She sent out her heartfelt condolences to the family of Flora Rico, Martha Fenstermaker, Samuel Vester, Maria Eugenia Armendariz, Dr. Baltazar Ramos, and Dolores Gamboa.

Cmr. Galo welcomed everyone present. He congratulated Lewis Energy for receiving the Employer of the Year Award by the Texas Workforce Commission. Cmr. Galo stated that Books-A-Million will be hosting a book drive to help Bethany House create an Educational Facility. He congratulated the South Texas Food Bank for 25th Anniversary this December. Cmr. Galo congratulated the United High School Football Team for dominating the awards on the 29 6A Division. He mentioned that UISD is setting up a new scholarship fund fundraisers for local students Run Wildcats for Scholars 5K Run/Walk and Health Fair on January 10 at the Bill Johnson Student Activity Complex. Cmr. Galo congratulated all the schools who participated in the Hoop Fest. He sent out his heartfelt condolences to the family of Samuel Vester, Dolores Gamboa, Rosa Torres, and Rosario Marquez.

Cmr. Canales sent out his heartfelt condolences to the family of Martha Fenstermaker, Maria Del Carmen Burr, Ana L. Leyna, Estela Gaytan, Dorris Ann Karabanoff, Gaudencio Ariel Caudilo, Cecilia Camacho, Ignacio Gomez, and Julia C. Garcia. He thanked the National Guard Bravo Company 3141 for their service and for allowing him to be part of their Christmas luncheon yesterday. Cmr. Canales thanked everyone who was involved with the Webb County Employee Christmas Dance. He congratulated United ISD for placing on the College Board's 5th Annual AP District Honor Roll. Cmr. Canales sent his good luck wishes to the Laredo Boxer Club. He congratulated the Cigarroa Men's and Women's Basketball team for their win in the championship game. Cmr. Canales thanked everyone who attended the press conference for Dunamis Ministries. He encouraged everyone to go out and vote during this run-off election.
