Official Minutes for Webb County Commissioners Court Special Meeting Monday, July 3, 2017 at 9:30 AM (Approved July 24, 2017)
Let it be remembered that a special meeting of the Webb County Commissioners Court was held at 9:30 a.m. at the regular meeting place with the following members present to wit: Tano E. Tijerina, County Judge Rosaura "Wawi" Tijerina, Commissioner, Pct. 2 John C. Galo, Commissioner, Pct. 3 Thus constituting a quorum, the Commissioners Court proceeded to act upon the Agenda as posted in the meeting notice of the 30th day of June 2017. Present also were Mrs. Virginia M. Rodriguez, Deputy County Clerk representing Mrs. Margie Ramirez Ibarra, Ex-officio Clerk of the Commissioners Court, various officers and others interested in the business of the Court.


CALL TO ORDER BY THE HONORABLE TANO E. TIJERINA, WEBB COUNTY JUDGE

	1.	Roll Call by Honorable Margie Ramirez-Ibarra, Webb County Clerk
		Roll Call by Mrs. Virginia M. Rodriguez, Recording Secretary on behalf of the Honorable Margie Ramirez Ibarra, Webb County Clerk
		Motion by Commissioner, Pct. 2 Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina, seconded by Commissioner, Pct. 3 John C. Galo to excuse Cmr. Gonzalez and Cmr. Canales
		Vote: 5 - 0 Motion Carried

	2.	Pledge of Allegiance

	3.	Public Comment - This section provides the public the opportunity to address the Commissioners Court on any items on the Agenda. Members of the public wishing to participate must complete a Witness Card specifying which agenda item they wish to comment on. Each public member will be allowed a total of Three (3) minutes within which to make any/all public comments.
		No one signed up for Public Comment.

COURT TO DISCUSS AND ACT ON THE FOLLOWING:

Honorable Delia Perales, Treasurer

	4.	AI-6074 Discussion and possible action to approve/ratify any pending bills as presented by the County Treasurer; and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: There is a time gap between regularly scheduled commissioners court meetings wherein certain bills become due and require court approval. Solution: Present pending bills to the court for approval at special meeting. Result: Ensure that all scheduled payments will be processed timely.
		County Treasurer, Ms. Delia Perales presented the Recap of Checks, Recap of Released Immediate Payments, and Ratification of one (1) Check for the District Attorney's Office.
		Motion by Commissioner, Pct. 2 Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina, seconded by Commissioner, Pct. 3 John C. Galo to approve the payments due to all individuals
		Vote: 3 - 0 Motion Carried
		Motion by Commissioner, Pct. 3 John C. Galo, seconded by Commissioner, Pct. 2 Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina to approve a resolution by us saying that we urge the Auditor's Board to instruct the Auditor to pay if it's legally incurred and make any minor changes at a later date
		Vote: 3 - 0 Motion Carried

Purchasing

	5.	AI-6071 Discussion and possible action to extend the employment posting period for the following county director positions in an effort to increase the pool of qualified applicants; and any other matters incident thereto. [Requested by Commissioners Court] Community Action Agency Road and Bridge Superintendent Risk Manager
		Motion by Commissioner, Pct. 3 John C. Galo, seconded by Commissioner, Pct. 2 Rosaura “Wawi” Tijerina to have Mr. James Flores as Interim CAA Director with a $2,000 monthly stipend
		Vote: 3 - 0 Motion Carried

	5.	Adjourn
