Discussion and possible action to adopt a Resolution by the Commissioners Court to find that it is in the best interest of the citizens of Webb County to participate in FY 2026 and 2027 Region 2-Border Prosecution Unit Grant Program be operated from September 01, 2026 to August 31, 2027 by and through the District Attorney’s Office; and authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue: There is a need for additional resources to prosecute misdemeanor and felony cases, provide technical assistance and training to law enforcement agencies that operate within the Texas-Mexican Border area.

Solution: Adopt the resolution to participate in FY 2026 and 2027 Region 2-Border Prosecution Unit Grant Program.

Result: By approving the resolution, Webb County will be able to participate in FY 2026 and 2027 Region 2-Border Prosecution Unit Grant Program.

On March 06, 2025 the Webb County Commissioners Court took action to authorize applying for the FY 2026-2027 Region 2-Border Prosecution Unit Grant by the Webb County District Attorney’s office.
