Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Architectural Services for roof renovations for the Billy Hall Administrative Building located at 1110 Washington Street and any other matters incident thereto. [Account #1001-1130-001-432001 (General Fund-General Operating Exp-Administration-Professional Services)]

Issue: An independent roof assessment of the Webb County Billy Hall Building was conducted by AEI Consultants.

Solution: The consultant stated that the approximate 23-year-old modified bitumen roof system is reaching the end of its serviceable life and is recommending roof replacement within 1–2 years. The estimated replacement cost is $375,000.00 for construction alone. Staff is recommending that an architect be contracted to prepare design plans, construction documents for the bid process, and construction administration throughout the duration of the project.

Result: If approved, an RFQ will be advertised to secure sealed statement of qualifications for evaluation and for final consideration to award by the Webb County Commissioners Court.
