Discussion and possible action to authorize the Purchasing Agent to advertise a formal Invitation to Bid for the purchase of two (2) Peterbilt 567 tractors and for three (3) Peterbilt 548 dump trucks to include options for warranty coverage pursuant to the County Purchasing Act and any other matters incident thereto.

Issue:
The Road and Bridge Department is requesting to purchase heavy equipment for general operations use for road maintenance, solid waste operations and other projects as directed by Commissioners Court. Currently, the department has X equipment that has met or exceeded its useful life and equipment is no longer operating efficiently.
Solution:
Consideration to authorize the Purchasing Agent to secure competitive pricing for the purchase of the requested heavy equipment.
Result:
If approved, an invitation to bid for the requested equipment will be posted to secure competitive bids for the Courts' consideration for award.
