Discussion and possible action to authorize the purchase of three (3) license plate reader systems (LPRs), including hardware and service from Motorola Solutions (DIR Cooperative Contract #CPO-5433) for an amount not to exceed $63,753.00 for the Webb County Sheriff’s Office pursuant to Texas Local Government Code, Sub-Chapter F. Cooperative Purchasing Program; Section 271.02 (Cooperative Purchasing Program Participation) and any other matters incident thereto. Issue: The proposed purchase will enhance existing efforts in the collaboration between Webb County and other law enforcement partner agencies in protecting our Texas border communities in its continued efforts with border security operations.

Solution: Consideration to authorize the purchase of the LPRs by Commissioners Court utilizing federal forfeiture funds. No impact to the General fund.

Result: Border security equipment can be deployed to the areas needed to enhance border security operations.
