Discussion and possible action to approve submitting the application for participation in the LTSS Managed Care Organization – Superior Health Plan provider network. The Meals on Wheels program will continue contract rate up to $6.12 per unit and provide 16,130 home delivered meals, and authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign any relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. There will not be an impact to the General Fund.
Issue: The LTSS MCO - Superior Health Plan provider application must be updated for continued participation the provider network.
Solution:The approval of the Commissioner's Court will authorize the LTSS MCO network provider (Superior Health Plan) to enter into a service agreement to provide additional home-delivered meals.
Result: The Meals on Wheels program will continue to provide home-delivered meals through a partnership with LTSS Managed Care Organization - Superior Health Plan.
Background:
STAR+PLUS integrates acute care and community-based long-term care services to achieve a seamless continuum of care for members. Managed care organizations (MCOs) are responsible for coordinating these services through a service coordinator –Superior Health Plan.
Previous Court Action:
The previous action was approved participate in the Superior Health Care provider network on February 8, 2016. The network provides additional participants to receive home-delivered meals.
