Discussion and possible action to approve the submission of a wage determination and fringe benefits for "Recreation Supervisor" (a CoreCivic Employee) who works at the Laredo Processing Center (the facility owned and operated by CoreCivic) to the U.S. Department of Labor under federal contract IGSA 70DCR18DIG000010; and authorizing the Webb County Judge to sign all relevant documents and any other matters incident thereto. This will have no impact on the County's General Fund. [Requested by Webb County Sheriff Martin Cuellar, (Laredo Processing Center Account #1001-209250-185)]
Background:
On February 26, 2018 Item No. 22 the Webb Commissioners Court authorized the Civil Legal Division to enter into negotiations and enter into an agreement pursuant to Tex. Gov. Code 272.005. Pursuant to IGSA Contract 70DCR18DIG000010 Webb County is a Service Provider for Federal detainees. CoreCivic is the current subcontractor and owner of the Laredo Processing Center (LPC). LPC is subject to the IGSA contract requirements and must meet classification and wage rate determinations pursuant to U.S. Department of Labor.
