Discussion and possible action to authorize the reduction of the following contract amounts for the Self-Help Center Reconstruction Program, (Contract #712003) and authorize the County Judge to sign all relevant documents. The amounts were reduced by $50.00 per contract, due to the fact that the portable toilets were not necessary because of the short turnaround time in which these mobile homes were removed and installed. Grant Funded and will have no impact to the County's General Fund.

Issue: AA Builders was awarded contracts that consisted of removing and replacing 2 mobile home units. The bids that were submitted and awarded included a fee of $50.00 per contract for the cost associated with portable toilets to be used by contractors throughout the construction phase. The process was so quick that the portable toilets were not necessary and thus associated costs removed from the final payment to contractor.
Solution: Reduce each contract by $50.00 to account for the portable toilets that were not needed.
Result: Cost savings to the County (Grant Funds).
Background:
This item is necessary in order to inform the court that a reduction in the awarded contract amounts took place after we learned that the portable toilets were not necessary due to the short turnaround time in removing and installing these mobile homes.
