Discussion and possible action to approve the 2014 - 2015 Head Start/Early Head Start Local Self-Assessment results and the Program Improvement Plan. Issue: As per Head Start Performance Standard 1304.51(a)(2)(i), Head Start and Early Head Start programs must conduct a Self-assessment of their effectiveness and progress in meeting program goals and objectives and in implementing Federal regulations.
Solution: Participate in, review, and approve the 2014 - 2015 Program Improvement Plan.
Result: The Webb County Head Start and Early Head Start program will be in 100% compliance with all local, State, and Federal regulations at all times.
Background:
As per Head Start Performance Standard 1304.51 (a) (2) (i), Program self-assessment and monitoring, at least once each program year, with the consultation and participation of the policy groups and, as appropriate, other community members, grantee and delegate agencies must conduct a self-assessment of their effectiveness and progress in meeting program goals and objectives and in implementing Federal regulations. Grantees must establish and implement procedures for the ongoing monitoring of their own Head Start and Early Head Start operations. Grantees must inform governing bodies of any deficiencies in delegate agency operations identified in the monitoring review and must help them develop plans, including timetables, for addressing identified problems.
Previous Court Action:
Previous Self-Assessment and Program Improvement Plan was approved by the Court May 27, 2014.
