Webb County inmates who do not qualify for indigent health care services must be paid by the County Jail budget. Costs for various types of medical services for inmates can total in excess of $1 million dollars annually. The Webb County Sheriff's Office is recommending that the annual investment $12,708.00 continue in order to obtain Medicaid pricing for medical services such as lab/x-ray fees, in/out patient services, physician fees and other medical services provided for ailments being experienced by Webb County inmates. County will save a significant amount of money using Indigent Health Care Solution services. In Fiscal year 2015 the County saved approximately $1.1 million in medical related costs for treatment.
