Discussion and possible action to adopt the 2016 Webb County Emergency Operations Plan, composed of the Basic Plan and Twenty-Two annexes, contingent upon review and approval by the Texas Department of Public Safety, Division of Emergency Management, Planning Section.
Issue: The Webb County Emergency Operations Plan (E.O.P.) was last updated in June 2011 and must be updated and resubmitted to the Texas Division of Emergency Management at least every (5) years. The E.O.P. consists of the Basic Plan and Twenty-two annexes which are assigned to the appropriate county officials and department heads for update, approval and signature.
Solution: This agenda item will streamline the E.O.P. approval process and allow for the annexes to be executed by the designated signatories as soon as the review and approval process is completed at the state level.
Result: Efficient process for approval and adoption of the 2016 Webb County Emergency Operations Plan that will allow the county to meet the June 2016 5-year update deadline.
