Discussion and possible action to approve and adopt a Complaint Procedure Policy in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The Complaint Procedure would provide for a timely and equitable resolution of general public complaints associated with the provision of services, activities, programs, and facilities by Webb County.
Issue: Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act pertaining to services and programs provided by local governments requires that a complaint process be implemented by each jurisdiction to be used by the general public in regards to alleged discrimination on the basis of an individual's disability.
Solution: Commissioners Court to adopt a Complaint Process that would be followed by the ADA Coordinator through guidance from the County Attorney's Office.
Result: Provide timely and equitable resolution to alleged discrimination on the basis of disability in the provision of county services, activities, program, benefits, and access to facilities.
