Discussion and possible action to authorize the temporary filling of Slot #2805, into a temporary full-time position (without benefits) to replace an employee who is out on Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) without pay; with authorization to continue to fund temporary employee at entry level rate of pay, effective immediately, and terminates upon the return of the regular full-time employee.
Issue: The department’s Administrative Clerk is currently out on “leave without pay” under FMLA causing a critical disruption and backlog of office and administrative functions.
Solution: A temporary employee is needed to fulfill the duties of the Administrative Clerk until such time as the permanent Administrative Clerk returns to work.
Result: If approved, a temporary employee will allow for the continuation of workflow of the Administrative Clerks’ duties; thereby, reducing the interruption in office operations.
