Issue: Slot became available to the department in June 2017, employee previously occupying the position is now under the DWI court program grant. Policy changed during the transfer period and the department head discretion to place the slot at a 16/E at the time of hiring is now only possible after a probation period of six months.
Solution: Approve the step increase, forgoing the probationary period.
Result: The approval will allow our department to continue to function efficiently and effectively.
