Discussion and possible action to approve the following budget amendment (line item transfer) by increasing the expense account in the amount of $18,000.00 from revenues received from the Drug Court Program Fees and Court Costs that have been collected pursuant to Code Crim. Proc., Art. 102.0178 and Government Code Chapter 123. These expenditures are allowable as costs for the "development and maintenance of drug court programs operated within the county" as required under this Code:

Issue: Frequent Drug and Alcohol testing is part of the 10-key components of a Drug Court Program as indicated by the National Association for Drug Court Professionals Organization. There is currently an outstanding balance for Drug testing services rendered to all participants of the Drug Court Program.
Solution: Utilize funds from the Drug Court Program Fees to pay for services provided to the Drug Court Program participants, specifically, drug and alcohol testing services.
Result: Continue drug testing all participants for drug and alcohol to monitor abstinence and compliance while participating in the 406th Judicial District Adult Drug Court Program.
