Discussion and possible action to reject all Request for Proposals for RFP 2019-004 “Building Lease for Safe Haven Program” and authorize the Purchasing Agent to resolicit to secure new proposals. The original proposals did not meet all the space requirements or exceeded the grant budgeted amounts allocated for this program.
Issue: Four (4) proposals were secured. None of the proposals met the space requirements and/or exceeded the grant budget.
Solution: Authorize the Purchasing Agent to re-solicit for Request for Proposals.
Result: Secure new proposals for the Safe Haven Program under the direction of the Sheriff’s Office.
Background:
The Webb County Safe Haven Program has been very successful in providing supervised visitation and safe exchanges of children for the benefit of the after-mentioned children and their families in the Laredo/Webb County community. However, the Webb County Sheriff’s Office would like to expand theses services for the greater benefit of the local community.
The Purchasing Agent secured Four (4) proposals for this project. The Sheriff Safe haven staff conducted site visits to all locations being proposed, all locations either exceeded the budgeted amounts allocated for space rental under the grant and/or did not have the space requirements needed to comply with program. In addition, several City of Laredo Airport properties were inspected but none met the requirements or budgetary limits of grant.
Previous Court Action:
Commissioners Court authorized the Purchasing Agent to solicit for proposals on 11/26/2018.
